- Email and internet usage policy. Which outlines acceptable levels of private use and limitations on particular behaviours, such as downloading or streaming media.
- Data backup policy. Which outlines the methods and practices for ensuring a comprehensive backup of company data.
Some common procedures that your company should have include:
- Lodging and tracking of IT support requests. To facilitate proper monitoring of issues and problems raised, as well as actions undertaken and solutions applied.
- User setup and termination procedures. These are important when staff are hired or leave the company.
2. Have a single point of contact to handle communication of IT-related requests
Assign a specific contact person to receive and relay IT support requests to your external provider.
